Government Support to Fast-Track Chocolate Experience

The Chocolate Experience at Cadbury will bring back to life one of Tasmania’s most beloved attractions.

"Thanks to the Tasmanian Government’s support in today’s budget, we’re fast-tracking the world’s leading chocolate experience, which will also showcase Tasmania’s incredible local produce” said Simon Currant.

“We can’t wait to share a uniquely Tasmanian story that’s all about provenance, innovation, and artisan chocolate making, with benefits rippling across the entire state.

“The Government’s $12 million contribution will push things into high gear, ensuring the public infrastructure is delivered quickly and supporting our capital partners who are on track to secure an additional $100 million in private investment.

“The Chocolate Experience will become Tasmania’s most popular attraction, contributing an extra $120 million to the visitor economy every year. The project will create over 300 jobs during construction and more than 200 permanent roles once it’s open, making a huge impact on the local economy.

“Cadbury has always been an iconic part of Tasmania’s story, and this new experience will take it to the next level, ensuring its future.”

This investment will also revitalise the Claremont waterfront, creating a vibrant new space for locals and visitors alike, with a new jetty terminal, public walkways, and an extension of the Hobart Foreshore cycleway.

“Construction will commence next year, and we’re looking forward to welcoming our first visitors the following year.”
